Staff at Ilkeston’s Specsavers store are celebrating after scooping several awards and certificates.
Krishna Parmar, dispensing optician and manager of the Ilkeston, Long Eaton and Beeston stores, has just scooped gold Investors in People awards at all three shops.
The scheme i s a business improvement tool administered by UK Commission for Employment and Skills.
The stores were handed the gold award as a reward fort heir hard work and excellent customer service.
As well as that success four members of the Ilkeston team have also passed the level 3 certificate for ophthalmic dispensing assistants.
Brady Thornill, Katie Mellors, Donna Busby and Amita Makh all passed the exam.
Krishna, who is in charge of 75 staff in total said: “Staff motivation and commitment is key to the success of the business and to our customers’ experience.
“I’ve always encouraged my staff to be as ambitious as they want to be and it’s great that so many of the team are progressing and that we’ve received this recognition from IiP.
“I’m delighted that they have all done so well and look forward to continuing to support them as they further their careers.”
Long Eaton staff were also celebrating after Lynette Bennett-McCarthy has just passed her dispensing optician degree, while Nicky Widdowson has completed the level 3 certificate for ophthalmic dispensing assistants.
The news comes shortly after Krishna and the team supported the ‘Tiser’s hugely successful Life Thru the Lens competition providing a top notch camera for the winner.
