Cotmanhay Children’s Centre received a ‘good’ rating with ‘outstanding’ features, following an inspection.
Children and families using the centre in Beauvale Drive receive ‘exceptional care, guidance and support’ according to inspectors.
They pointed out an ‘extremely positive and welcoming environment’ and staff go out of their way to give support.
The report said: “Those who use the centre know their views are listened to and influence greatly the centre’s work.”
Cllr Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for young people, said: “Staff work very hard to offer activities and services the community want and this good report is a tribute to their efforts and the support of parents and volunteers.”
Centre co-ordinator Melanie Lee said: “We’re happy to serve the community of Cotmanhay and provide children and families with fun activities and vital services.”
