A NEW trophy is now up for grabs at the Long Eaton School for pupils’ service in the community, courtesy of former students.

To mark the secondary school’s centenary celebrations, organisers of reunions held last year have given the prize to the school to be awarded annually to a pupil or group of pupils for voluntary service in the community.

Headteacher Neil Calvert said: “We look forward to receiving nominations and perhaps finding some unsung heroes who deserve recognition for their voluntary service.”
