Schools rota for wardens

PARKING wardens have drawn up a rota of Derbyshire schools to visit during term time.

Civil enforcement officers will be outside during the school run to police parking on nearby streets after complaints from residents.

The issue of parking at drop off and pick up times from local schools was raised at an Ilkeston community forum last week.

Paul Jameson, local area forum liaison officer, told residents that all schools should have a travel plan in place.

He said: “Travel plans should encourage parents to park further away from the school and walk.

“We’re also encouraging parents and pupils to cycle or use a scooter to get to and from school.”
