CHARITABLE children at Chaucer Infants School have filled more than 60 shoeboxes with Christmas presents for those less fortunate.

Led by higher-level teaching assistant Sue Melbourne, the school has supported the Samaritan’s Purse project for ten years now.

Sue showed the children a box that she had filled with crayons, paper, dolls, and sweets, and asked the children to fill similar boxes over three weeks.

On Tuesday Ilkeston Rotary Club collected the boxes to deliver them to the Samaritan’s drop-off point from where they will be delivered to children and families in need around the world.
