An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in Kirk Hallam.

Ilkeston firefighters, police, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene in Ladywood Road just after 10am on Sunday to find a vehicle on its roof and the woman trapped inside.

They cut her from the wreckage and she was transferred to hospital.

The condition of the woman and the extent of her injuries are not yet known – nor is the cause of the smash.

PC Annie Gregory, of Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We want anyone with any information about this incident to call Derbyshire police on 101.”
