GEOGRAPHY students have helped to create an exciting new activity to have a go at on the popular Erewash Valley Trail.
Geocaches – boxes containing interesting geographical information or an activity to do – have been hidden along the trail for visitors to find.
The pupils from George Spencer Academy in Stapleford helped to hide the ‘caches, as well as placing items inside them which can be swapped for something of equal value by the finder, alongside environmental charity Groundwork.
Teacher Elysia Parnell said: “Both students and staff have enjoyed constructing the trail and hope that it will be well used by the wider public in future.”
Tracey Lloyd from Groundwork added: “Geocaching is a great way to get more from a walk, and good for encouraging teens to get outside.”
