Police are appealing for a witness who may have vital information in investigating yesterday's fatal crash.
A 21-year-old man was killed in a collision between a Peugeot and a Subaru yesterday (Friday, 17 June) on the A6002 Low Wood Road, off the A610 near the Nuthall roundabout, at around 7.30pm.
The female driver of the Peugeot was injured as was the male driver of the Suburu, who are both being treated in hospital but not believed to be in critical condition.
The road was closed for more than seven hours following the crash. No arrests have been made.
Officers investigating the crash believe a lorry driver in the area may have important information.
They have released a picture of a Leyland DAF HGV believed to be in the area at the time to help trace the driver.
Investigators would also like to speak to the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Zafira which stopped at the scene immediately after the crash, and a dark-coloured Renault Megane seen in the area.
Police said: "It is imperative that the drivers of these vehicles make contact with the police in order to provide this essential assistance."
If you know the driver of this HGV or the other two vehicles, or have any other information about the crash, please telephone 101, quoting incident number 862 of 17 June.
