Final farewell for ‘great man’ Bill Camm

HUNDREDS of mourners paid their respects to Cllr Bill Camm who died in April after a stroke.

Cllr Camm, who was an independent who represented Sawley, was praised by political parties across the board for his dedication to residents and the community.

Family friend, John Heard, said: “It was as close to a state funeral that I think this town will ever have seen.

“Bill was a great man, so well respected and liked and was involved in so much.

“The list of representatives who were at the funeral is endless.

“It was a fitting tribute.”
