Firefighters attended a blaze at Horsley Woodhouse last night.
Crews from Heanor and Ilkeston were called to a propery at Chestnut Close at 10.45pm.
The incident involved a plastic bench and a gas metre cover at the rear of the property, a spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
The National Grid were also called to make the scene safe alongside the fire service.
Fire crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
The stop message was received at 01.16am and crews left at 01.34am.
