The strong winds kept Ilkeston firefighters busy yesterday (Saturday, January 10) as they received numerous call-outs.
At 4.06pm, an unsafe ridge tile was reported on the roof of a property in Park Road, Ilkeston, and a fire crew used a 13.5 metre ladder, roof crawler and safety harness to remove it. They left at 5.34pm.
At 5.33pm, firefighters from Ilkeston joined a crew from Ascot Drive Fire Station, in Derby, at a two-storey end terraced property in Norman Street, Ilkeston.
They used an aerial ladder platform to tend to a dangerous structure and left at 7.58pm.
