THE NATIONAL Grid has said gas mains works in Sandiacre, which are expected to last until autumn, will cause ‘minimal’ disruption.
The M1 Corridor Gas Alliance, a partnership between the National Grid and Amec, is spending £7m replacing 30 miles of pipes in the area.
The work in Sandiacre starts on Monday and should last five months.
Construction operations engineer Paul Patrick said: “These pipes are designed to last for 80 years if left undisturbed.”
He added: “We are appealing for people to have patience with us during this work.”
