A former church in Stapleford is to be converted into flats for vulnerable older people.

Broxtowe Borough Council has granted permission for the flats at St Andrews in Antill Street.

The project was put forward by homelessness charity Framework and was approved despite concerns over a lack of parking.

In total 18 letters of rejection were submitted stating objections.

Framework described the new homes as ‘move on accommodation’ for people who need less support than others.

People will be vetted by Framework before they move in.
