WORK is well on the way to turn a former Cotmanhay pub into a convenience store.
Although it was first thought the Live and Let Live pub in Charlotte Street was going to become a Costcutter, One Stop last week applied for a licence to serve alcohol there.
The firm, owned by Tesco, is planning to serve booze at all times during its opening hours from 6am to 11pm,
Work was delayed at the pub in September when arsonists set fire to a digger after breaking in. The digger was pushed up against the door and the blaze spread to the roof.
Builders from contractors Spectrum said the fire had set the project back by a fortnight.
Tesco bought the White Cow in Nottingham Road in 2009 and turned it into a shop.
