A family’s fundraising efforts have topped £5,000 after a fun day and donations to their charity appeal.
Six-year-old Callum Padgett’s friends and family have rallied round to collect cash in case he needs to travel abroad to receive treatment for the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
The latest donations to the appeal, being run by his aunty, Sam Padgett, came from the Ilkeston Borough Golf Club and Belfield Furnishings.
A cheque for £950 was handed over by Terry Keely from Belfield Furnishings and a Captain’s Charity Event held by Geoff Taylor at the golf club raised £200.
Sam said: “It’s been amazing the amount of people who are still ringing upnow after seeing Callum’s story in the Advertiser.
“We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has and is supporting us.”
Wristbands are on sale at B&M Bargains in the Albion Centre and supporters are planning a sky dive and to run the Robin Hood Marathon.
