FWAG advisor still available

On Thursday, November 17, it was announced that the Farming & wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) had gone into administration.

FWAG was established in 1969 by a group of forward thinking farmers who were concerned about the dramatic loss of habitat and wildlife that was becoming apparent in those days. It was an independent Registered Charity and operated throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with volunteer committee members and a chairman.

Derbyshire’s chairman was a farmer near Carsington, who had invaluable input into Derbyshire FWAG and I was the Derbyshire FWAG adviser

I live in Hanbury and keep a small suckler herd on rented ground near Burton, and will continue as a self-employed farm adviser in Derbyshire and the local area, working on project work already started.

I have an MSc in Crop Protection from Harper Adams and not only am I very experienced in ELS (OELS, UELS) & HLS applications, I also deal with Single Farm Payment, the Soil Protection Review, manure/slurry issues, soil testing for target fertiliser applications, advice on applying for the new RDPE grants and general cross compliance.

I can be contacted on 01283 810470/07855 201150 and janec60@fsmail.net.
