A month of special £5 deals across Ilkeston’s independent shops kicks off on Saturday.
Totally Locally Ilkeston launches its campaign to boost the high street at Maltby’s Mill, Station Road from 10am with a chance to find out what the campaign is all about.
There will be two screenings of film-maker Edward Jarvis’s documentary about lace at 2pm and 7.30pm.
Heare are some examples of what’s on offer during the Fiver Fest, which runs until August 31.
Janjos vintage afternoon tea specialists are offering a box of nine buttercream fairy cakes for a fiver – that’s £1.75 off.
Emma’s Cafe in Pelham Street is offering £2.50 off steak pie, chips, peas and gravy with a of tea and ice cream for £5.
Lobina’s in Nottingham Road is knocking £2.50 off a handmade Italian cheese and tomato pizza with three toppings.
And Polish supermarket Roma in Bath Street is offering Polish jam, butter and fresh bread, slices of ham and cheese along with Fresh Pastry for £5 – a £2 discount.
