ILKESTON’s very own Calendar Girls have raised their charity cash target following the successful launch of their saucy calendar last week.

Louise Gregory and her ten friends, all aged between 32 and mid-50s, have released an extra batch of their calendars, for which they posed nude in the Dewdrop Inn in scenes similar to the famous 2003 film, after the first 300 sold out in just three days.

With the new order the girls have now raised the target they hope to raise for Cancer Research, the British Heart Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease Association from £2,700 to £4,200.

Louise said: “We are extremely happy that we sold the full 300 in three days and are now waiting a re-order of a further 200.”

More than £100 was raised via a raffle at the launch night in the Dewdrop, in which prizes were donated by the girls and local firms.

Daniel Burton Imagery and Blue Monkey brewery were two of the firms offering help to the girls.
