THREE good causes, who had funds raised for them at Long Eaton Lions club annual race night earlier this year, have now received a share of the £1,005 prize money.

Representatives from the Royal Derby Hospital breast care unit, the Nightingale Macmillan unit and the oncology and urology unit received cheques from Lions President Terry Beevers and night organiser David Brown.

The Long Eaton Lions fundraising group held its race night at the Novotel in Bostock’s Lane in the town in January.

Cash bets were placed by Lions members during the night and the final prize money was then divided up between the three charities, which all help to fight different forms of cancer.
