THREE good causes, who had funds raised for them at Long Eaton Lions club annual race night earlier this year, have now received a share of the £1,005 prize money.

Representatives from the Royal Derby Hospital breast care unit, the Nightingale Macmillan unit and the oncology and urology unit received cheques from Lions President Terry Beevers and organiser of the race night, Rotarian David Brown.

The Long Eaton Lions fundraising group held the event at the Novotel in Bostock’s Lane in the town in January.

Cash bets were placed by Lions members during the night.

The final prize money collected on the night was then divided up between the three units at the hospital.
