Generous families visiting Gulliver’s theme parks throughout 2011 raised in excess of £2,000 for national children’s charity Dreams Come True.
Kind-hearted customers are donating money to Dreams Come True, Gulliver’s charity of the year, through collection pots at tills and special “dream ponds”. The figure will rise when two remaining dream ponds are emptied.
The money has been added to more than £8,000 raised by Gulliver’s staff in a series of fundraising events throughout 2011.
Dream ponds were installed at each of Gulliver’s three locations – including Matlock Bath – last July, encouraging families to throw spare change into the pond to contribute towards make a “dream come true”.
Dean Kimberley from Gulliver’s said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers – the money donated through the dream ponds alone is enough to make dreams come true for two well-deserving children.”
