A hard-hitting play about child sexual exploitation is to be performed in 72 schools across Derbyshire as part of a new education and prevention project.
‘Chelsea’s Choice’ is a 45-minute play based on the real-life experiences of exploited children and will be followed by a question and answer session and discussion about child sexual exploitation.
The play comes to Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy on November 13, Friesland School on November 18, Long Eaton School on November 19 and Kirk Hallam Community Academy on December 5.
‘Chelsea’s Choice’ is funded by Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Boards, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, and Safer Derbyshire.
It is hoped that the play will raise students’ awareness and understanding and help reduce their risk of sexual exploitation by giving them knowledge of how to act if they feel they are in danger.
