All 60 benches, planned as a lasting tribute to last year’s Diamond Jubilee are now in place.
Erewash Borough Council asked residents where they would like the benches to be placed last year in honour of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
There are nine benches in Ilkeston, including two on the Nutbrook Trail and one in Park Cemetery.
Four are in Kirk Hallam, including one at the lake, and three are in West Hallam. Stanley Common has two benches and Stanley has one.
Sandiacre and Risley have received four benches each, including at Risley Park and Springfield Park.
There are two in Morley and one at Dale Abbey.
There are 15 benches in Long Eaton and the remaining 14 are spread between Borrowash, Breadsall, Breaston, Draycott, Little Eaton, Ockbrook and Sawley.
The benches have all been specially made and include a commemorative plaque which reads ‘Erewash Borough Council, celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 1952-2012’.
