People can speak out on proposals to close five care homes including one in Ilkeston.
Derbyshire County Council agreed to launch the consultations in to the five proposed closures and people are now being encouraged to have their say on the proposals which could see the possible closure of Hillcrest in Kenilworth Drive, Kirk Hallam.
Residents and family members will get the opportunity to have their say at meetings held at the homes, where council consultation officers will be on hand to ensure everyone’s views are noted and fed into the consultation.
Councillor Rob Davison, said: “Our aim is to keep the majority of our residential care homes open where we can, which is why we reviewed the original plan we inherited back in 2013, which was to close all but four homes.
“This new plan will not only help to secure up to 18 residential care homes, but also help us to continue providing high quality home care services.”
