Hooded raider interrupted by OAP

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman disturbed an intruder who had sneaked into her home in Long Eaton.

At around 8.30pm on Thursday February 13 an 81-year-old woman noticed the back door to her home on Sycamore Road was slightly open.

She looked out of the door to see a man stood there. The woman shouted at him and he ran off.

The victim found her handbag in the garden and her purse was missing from it.

The man was wearing a light coloured top with a dark pattern and had his hood up.

A second person may have been involved as two men were seen acting suspiciously nearby around the time of the incident. Call police on 101.
