GENEROUS youngsters at an Ilkeston Brownies group have raised £350 for charity after a marathon hopping challenge.
All of the girls from Holy Trinity Brownies, who meet at the church in Granby Street every week, hopped on one leg for a total of 26 minutes to raise cash to be split between Children With Leukaemia charity and group funds.
A total of £350 from the cash raised was donated to the charity which helps to find the causes of and improve treatment of cancer in children.
Unit leader Bev Seals said: “All the girls took part in the hopathon and they were exhausted when the 26 minutes were over.
“But they are really proud of the amount they raised for the unit funds and the charity.”
Bev said she let the youngsters, aged between seven and ten, hop in two 13-minute sessions.
