Ilkeston FC blog: Our fans are a credit to the club

Ilkeston’s journey along the road to Wembley came to a brave end on Saturday.

Although I couldn’t make it due to other commitments the messages and reports I’ve read all seem to indicate that we were unlucky to have been beaten.

The youngsters gave their all and should be really proud of their efforts.

They had a bit of a wobble in the week before the FA Cup match, losing 2-1 away to Barwell, but they shrugged that off and came really close to the result they deserved on Saturday.

Another brilliant thing to read after the match was the many tweets and message board messages praising the Ilkeston fans who travelled in their numbers to Stockport.

HERE’s what you had to say

They really are a credit to the club and hopefully this will help drive up the numbers attending the home games.

Another week and another news item regarding Chey Adams. This time he was offered a chance to play for Antigua and Barbuda, but he turned them down to give himself a chance of playing for England.

Anyone that has seen Chey play this season will understand all of the attention he is getting.

I’ve said it before but he is definitely one to watch and has a big bright future ahead of him. I just hope he can help the Robins gain promotion first.
