Bill Roache hired animal psychic
ILKESTON-born actor Bill Roache’s dog does impressions of his on screen wife Deirdre according to an animal psychic.
Bill, who plays Ken Barlow in Coronation Street, admitted to using the psychic so he can communicate with his dogs on a TV chat show.
The soap’s longest-serving actor, 79, revealed he had contacted Jackie Weaver, an animal psychic who claims to be able to talk to animals, to find out what his three pets are thinking.
He told Kevin Moore, host of Sky TV’s The Moore Show, that Jackie can tell him how Poppy, Oliver and Harry are feeling.
He said: “Jackie said Poppy even did an impersonation of my on-screen wife Deirdre, saying, ‘Oh, Ken’ in a drawn-out, exasperated way.
“I wasn’t aware she’d ever watched me in the show.
“I had a great deal to learn about this animal world.”
