BREAKING: Teenager found not guilty of rape

A 19-year-old has walked free from court after being accused of raping a 24-year-old woman in an Ilkeston park in 2011.

After deliberating for more than five hours the jury at Derby Crown Court found Dean Robertson, of Tobermory Way, Sinfin, not guilty this afternoon (Wednesday).

A mother-of-one from Cotmanhay had alleged that Robertson and another man had raped her in Rutland Recreation Ground in the early hours of Sunday October 30.

But Robertson said during the trial, which started on Monday February 11, that she had willingly performed a sex act on him after he had approached her as she was having sex with two other men.
