A helpful eight-year-old has been rewarded for her good work with tickets to see popstar Peter Andre.

Emily Sharkey was given the prize for the help she gives her classmates at Granby Junior School and at home as part of a ‘community champions’ campaign at school.

Her teacher Kathy Taylor said: “It’s very well deserved –she’s so kind and caring and always ready to help.

“I have never seen someone so excited as when she came back after the show!”

The tickets to the show at Nottingham came courtesy of Jono Hart, who was co-choreographer on the Mysterious Girl singer’s latest UK tour

It was one of the highlights of the successful 30-year-old dancer’s career.

“It’s been incredible,” he said Jono, who has danced for big names including Beyoncé and X Factor winners Little Mix.

“I get the most love for doing this job – Peter is a national treasure. But the fans are insane!”

Jono is the son of Diane K. Levers, who has run a popular dance school in Ilkeston for many years, and he still travels back from London to hold a street dance class at the Arena.

The community champions campaign at the school was set up by Ilkeston PCSO Robert Webb and saw the kids pack up Christmas shoeboxes for poor children in Eastern Europe.
