Engineering firm Atlas is bought out

A successful Ilkeston engineering firm has been bought out by an international manufacturing company.

Atlas Composites, which made components for Team GB’s Olympic cycling teams last summer, has been taken over by Senior PLC.

Atlas, based on the Quarry Hill Industrial Estate, also manufactured components for the aerospace industry.

Chief executive of Senior’s aerospace division David Beavan said: “Over the past six months Atlas Composites proved themselves to be a highly responsive and technically competent supplier in supporting our engineering team with the development of composite ECU ducts for two new regional jet programmes.”
