Erewash Labour Group member moves for no confidence in Mayor vote

An Erewash Labour Group councillor is putting forward a vote of no confidence in Mayor Jennifer Hulls the borough’s full council meeting next Thursday.

Frank Phillips, Labour ward councillor for Ilkeston Central, told the Advertiser he was moving for the vote on several grounds.

He said Cllr Hulls, a conservative member for Sandiacre South ward, pushed votes through too often when councillors still wanted to debate them, councillors were not always addressed in order and, most importantly, that Labour Group members were often ignored when they wanted to speak.

“Labour represents the public and the council but are not being called,” said Cllr Phillips.
