Charities, groups of volunteers and community groups have just six weeks to be in with a chance of winning up to £2,000.

Erewash Borough Council is offering cash for projects which help to improve the lives of borough folk and to support their vital work.

Sports and arts organisations can apply for up to £500 towards their projects in the borough, while parish councils can also bid for a grant to run play schemes over the summer holidays.

The council has also organised two clinics to help any organisations which would like guidance or support in completing their applications.

Deputy leader Cllr Carol Hart said: “Over the years, these grants have made a real difference to community organisations and we are well aware of how just a small amount of cash has proved a lifeline for them and helped make lots of good things happen.”

The first clinic is at Long Eaton Town Hall on Monday from 8.30am and the second is on Tuesday at 1pm at Ilkeston Town Hall.

Call Rebecca Swain on 0115 907 2244 for an application pack.
