Ilkeston swimming club members who swam 5,000 metres for charity, Mary Traynor, Emily Middleton, Lauren Booth, Jo Saunders and Charlie Palmer

These young Ilkeston Swimming Club members swam 5,000 metres to raise money for five-year-old Alfie Smith, who suffers from a rare mobility disorder.

From left, Mary Traynor, Emily Middleton, Lauren Booth, Jo Saunders and Charlie Palmer raised £1,150 during the epic slog at Ilkeston’s Victoria Park Leisure Centre. The money will help pay for young Alfie’s therapy.
