Let off steam at town forum

RESIDENTS can find out about a range of Erewash Borough Council issues at the Ilkeston Community Forum on Tuesday, February 10th.

The meeting will include a public question time session, to give people a chance to raise any matters of concern with their local councillor or a council officer.

Ian Cooper, the council's Interim Head of Leisure Services, will discuss the latest on the Sport Erewash leisure facilities at the Rutland Recreation Ground.

And Head of Development Services, Pete Wigglesworth, will be present to answer any questions relating to planning and development in the Ilkeston area.

The forum will also be updated on the council's recent corporate governance re-visit by the Audit Commission, its Forward Plan of Key Decisions and review of its community forums.

In addition, the meeting will include the appointment of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the forum to stand until May 2005.

The forum is open to residents of the Ilkeston Central, Old Park and Little Hallam wards, and will be held in the Council Chamber, Ilkeston Town Hall, Wharncliffe Road, from 7pm.

Any residents wanting an appointment with their local councillor prior to the meeting should call Connie Whyman, Democratic Services Officer at the Council, on: 0115 907 1117 or e-mail connie.whyman@erewash.gov.uk
