Looney new ideas

A loony is helping to shape the preposterous policies of a political party.

RU Seerius is pushing new ideas in his role of Shadow Minister for Uncommitted Manifesto Commitments.

RU attended the annual conference of the Monster Raving Loony Party in a Hampshire pub last weekend (sept 26).

After changing his name from Jon, RU has fought several elections in Erewash, where he lives.

His party claims to have nicked an idea from the Liberal Democrats who are talking about abolishing council tax.

Bus driver RU said: "All they're doing is changing the name and calling it local income tax. So we've decided to abolish pensions and call them Scrimp and Save Allowance."

Under a Loony government, all old people would be issued with a cardigan, slippers and pipe - even if they don't want them.

They would also get comfy armchairs and cushions plus hot water bottles to cuddle in bed.

And just to prove they've thought of everything, the party would issue them with puncture repair kits - if the bottles sprung a leak.
