Red Cross called to Ilkeston loft fire

Red Cross teams have given support to residents after a loft fire in Ilkeston this morning (Friday).

At about 5.40am firefighters from Ilkeston, Heanor and Derby stations were called out to Millfield Road in Larklands, where the blaze had spread to a neighbour’s loft.

A large amount of smoke was seen billowing from the property when they arrived.

The fire service issued a warning to stay away from the area.

No one was injured and the fire is now out.
