A teen superstar in the making has wowed judges to go through to the live stages of a national talent competition.

Former winner of Ilkeston’s Got Talent Lily Taylor-Ward, 16, is just one audition away from facing a panel of music industry celebrities.

First the classical singer, currently training at Clarendon College in Nottingham, must beat about 20 acts at Derby’s Riverside to be entered into the final round and be in with a chance of winning £20,000.

The Sandiacre singer has already performed once in the Teenstar competition and was entered into the next round in the 16 to 19 age group.

Mum Lisa said: “She’s done really well – she got great feedback from the judges last time.”

She said it would be a great opportunity for Lily as previous judges have included Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale and Ivor Novello winner Mark Hill.
