Swine flu hits Long Eaton boarding school

Two students at Long Eaton's Trent College have tested positive for swine flu.

The year 12 students at the boarding school were sent home at the weekend, but the school is remaining open, following advice from the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

A spokeswoman for the school said: "The current policy of the HPA is that every confirmed case of swine flu is assessed by public health to ascertain whether there is any evidence of spread within the school.

"With such a high number of cases in the community, the risk of catching the virus solely from attending school is no greater than elsewhere outside the school."
