Tax freeze explained

THE TORY leading group at the council plans to freeze council tax for a third year during budget discussions next month, it was announced this week.

Lead member for finance Cllr David Stephenson explained: “We realise that times are hard for the people of Erewash as the country works to recover from the spendthrift ways of the old Labour Government.”

He also revealed that the Tories will propose no increase to other fees and charges which Erewash Borough Council controls, including car parking charges.
