Council tax in Erewash is set to be frozen for the fourth year running.
At a meeting held on Wednesday, councillors on the executive committee are due to agree that a Band D property in the borough will continue to pay £165.91 a year.
The authority is hailing it a ‘significant achievement’ as cash from central Government was reduced as part its last Comprehensive Spending Review last year.
Erewash has had a 5.4 per cent decrease in the amount of cash it has received compared to last year.
Council leader Cllr Chris Corbett said: “We are proposing freezing the council tax for the fourth year running in recognition of the continuing difficult economic conditions being experienced by our taxpayers.
“We will tackle the difficult decisions that lie ahead and will strive to deliver cost effective services for you, providing value for money in everything we do.”
All councillors will vote on the plan on Thursday March 7.
