Teen singer releases song for charity
A talented teenager has shown she has big heart too, as she releases her debut single in aid of Help for Heroes.
A-level student Alice Maciborskyj, from Ilkeston, wrote Soldier as AS level coursework.
“I realised I could do something positive,” she said.
“Rather than just leave it in an exam file.”
The track is now available to buy on iTunes and Amazon and all profits go to the charity which helps injured servicemen and their families.
Alice, 17, has full backing from Bilborough College, where she is studying music, art and drama, as well as Help for Heroes chief executive Bryn Parry.
She has organised launch nights on Friday April 5 at the Book Café in Derby from 7pm and at Pepper Rocks Bar in Nottingham on Friday April 12 from 8pm.
The year ahead looks promising for the singer-songwriter as she prepares to perform at The Acoustic Festival of Britain in May alongside The Hollies and The Proclaimers.
She also hopes to get back in the studio later in the year to record her first album.
