Killamarsh kids invited to get extreme

Youngsters in Killamarsh are being invited to take part in a series of free springtime Extreme Wheels Roadshow events.

The events have been organised by the North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership, which includes the local councils and police.

They are being held every Friday evening between 6pm and 8pm at the skate park at Killamarsh Leisure Centre, from Friday, April 4 until Friday, May 23 (with the exception of Good Friday).

Extreme Wheels Roadshows offer the chance for young people to take part in activities such as Laser Tag, Master Blaster, Body Zorbing, Climbing Wall, KMX and BMX Racing.

Sgt. Paul Smith, of the North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership, said: “The Extreme Wheels Roadshows will bring lots of activities to Killamarsh during the next few weeks, and we hope there will be something to interest everyone.

“It will help provide youngsters with something to do, and an alternative to being out on the streets while perhaps trying new sports or learning new skills.”

To take part in the free sessions youngsters need to have a parent or guardian complete a consent form, which are available at the sessions. The minimum age is seven years-old, and under nines must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
