Junior masterchefs from 1st Loscoe Cubs cooked their way to a county final when they beat competitors from Codnor, Ripley and Sitwell packs.
The heat was on for the three-strong teams in the Ripley and Heanor District cooking competition when they had just 90 minutes to cook two courses using two gas rings and on a budget of £1o.
Three judges went round the competitors to see them preparing the main course and dessert, awarding points for teamwork, hygiene, preparation, presentation and taste.
The dishes had to be based around the theme of 1916 to tie in with Cub Scoutin’s 100th birthday.
Some of the dishes on offer were fishcakes, sausages, liver, curry, eggy bread and pancakes.
The winning Loscoe trio took part in the county final earlier this month where they were placed fourth out of seven qualifiers.
