Xanadu, Chesterfield: This was a very popular spot to hit in the town centre in the 1990s. Described by some of our readers as the place they went for some of their ‘best nights ever’.

Aquarius, Chesterfield: A ‘noteworthy Chesvegas club of the day’, Aquarius was one of the biggest clubs in the area - with part of the bar actually being renowned for being able to ‘grab-a-granny’.

Adam and Eve, Chesterfield: Sticky carpets and cheap booze is what made this old favourite a classic place to go on a night out on the town.

Fusion, Chesterfield: This place was previously Jingles, and many of you got in touch to make sure we gave it a mention. What are your memories?

Tonkers, Ripley: The place to go if you wanted to see famous people before they made it. Celeb DJs and N-Dubz even appeared there.

Compo’s, Matlock: A short-lived last of the summer wine theme, Ibiza-style superclub on Sterndale Moor, which famously hosted The Hitman and Her in 1991. One reader wrote for us to say they got leathered on the infamous ‘Wrinkled Stocking’ cocktail one night.

Flicks, Matlock: A tenner entry to use the free bar all night long - no wonder this place was a success. Based in the old home of the old Ritz cinema building, Flicks was a spot where people also would enjoy stage-diving.
