St John’s Ambulance is on the hunt for real life superheroes who may want to take part in fundraising challenges with a difference.

Residents of Ilkeston and across Derbyshire are being recruited by the first aid charity to take part in a June skydive or September stroll in superhero costume to raise money for the charity.

Anyone aged 16 and over is able to take part in the skydive and if participants raise more than £395 they are able to jump the 10,000 foot for free.

Regional fundraising co-ordinator Sarah Gerrard, said: “Anyone who’s ever dreamed of experiencing the thrill of the wind in their hair and the view from above should sign up.”

She added: “You’ll have an unforgettable experience, and people in communities across the country - will benefit as a result.”

For those who think the leap is a step too far a stroll which takes place in September is also being organised.
