A Dronfield woman has been given a conditional discharge for 12 months and must pay compensation for verbally abusing another resident.

Elizabeth Shelley, 52, of Egerton Road, Dronfield was arrested in connection with an incident on Tuesday, June 4, last year and was summoned to court for a public order offence.

She appeared at North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates’ Court last month where she was handed a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £150 costs and £15 compensation to the victim.

PC Heather Brown of the Dronfield Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This conviction couldn’t have been secured without the support of our partner agencies and other residents and we would like to thank them for their help.

“We’re committed to targeting all types of anti-social behaviour in the community. Local residents don’t need to suffer, so please contact your local officers if you have any issues or concerns.”
