Following the success of the PDSA’s recent PetCheck visit to Ilkeston, the vet charity and Erewash Borough Council are bringing a Pet Wellbeing Roadshow to the area.

Identified as a ‘hotspot’ for pet health issues, the vet charity’s staff will be in the area throughout July, making it one of only ten locations in Britain to receive the month-long period of ‘intensive care’ this year.

PDSA vet nurse Sue Bartlett is hosting the new month-long programme, which will include a week of free dog health checks from the charity’s touring PetCheck vehicles between July 21 and 26, preceded by three weeks of workshops in schools and community groups on all aspects of pet wellbeing.

Councillor Barbara Harrison, the council’s lead member for environment, said: “We are delighted that the strong partnership forged between our Neighbourhood Dog Wardens and the PDSA continues to build on the successful community work achieved over the last few years.”
