A 28-year-old man who died of serious head injuries after crashing a motorbike has been named by police as Dean Crooks.
Police and paramedics were called to the Nutbrook Trail near the Quarry Hill Industrial Estate at 1.20am on Saturday (October 5).
On arrival they found Mr Crooks with serious injuries.
He was rushed to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he died a short while later.
Police initially said they were treating the incident as ‘suspicious’ after arresting two men at the scene on suspicion of assault.
Two men, aged 24 and 20, were arrested at the scene .
They were later questioned and released on bail.
A third man, aged 30, was arrested on Saturday afternoon after he visited a police station. He was also questioned.
On Saturday evening officers said they were no longer treating the death as suspicious and that they believed Mr Crooks was riding a motorbike and that had struck a tree.
Tributes were posted on the social networking site Facebook.
Alex Mizouri wrote: “Can’t believe it...RIP Crooksey.”
Chris Wathey added: “Gutted. Crackin’ lad.”
Kelly Kinson said: “Another life took too soon .xx.”
Dale Roberts added: “Top lad can’t believe it,. R.I.P x.”
The death has been reported to the coroner and an inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.
