Children at the Charlotte Infant and Nursery School welcomed book week at their school by dressing up as their favourite book characters.

The event, which started on Monday and runs until tomorrow (Friday March 7), will also welcome a daily after-school book fair at which children and parents will be able to purchase latest releases.

The school aims to encourage pupils to engage in reading by themselves and with their parents.

The school held a competition for the best costume on dress-up day and the winners included: Lydia Larwood as Gingerbread man, Leo Foster as Where’s Wally, William Hollis as Mr Bump, Marcus Coleman as Woody, Braiden White as a native Indian and Lily Johnson as Mrs Potato Head.
